There are Disability Law Attorneys in Arkansas

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) largely regulates the “Disability Law.” This is an Act that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities. In this law, every individual should be equal with regards to education, housing, employment, and access to public services.

This act defines disability as follows:

· There is an existing mental or physical impairment that has the capacity to limit at least one major life activity of the individual.

· A record of the mentioned impairment.

· An individual has such impairment.

Alcoholism, for example, is included in this definition. However, other undesirable behaviors such as pyromania, compulsive gambling and other sexual behavior disorders (such as transvestite and pedophilia) are excluded from this Act.

It was noted that there was no listing of impairments in it. Therefore, the DOJ (Department of Justice) and EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) implement reasonable accommodation to provide equal opportunities to all individuals with disabilities. Other states may also pass disability statutes as long as it’s consistent with the Act.
